ok - so i've been working on getting www.splatcam.com into the apple store. i'm onto my 5th rejection now, for new reasons each time, no consistency, and only after the 5th one did they follow my instructions to test it on an iphone pro (since it uses lidar).
i was going to add a tonne of features on iphone (arkit playback, visionOS support), but i've decided that i'm not going to develop native apps on ios or macos anymore.
i'll explain to apple why they're being assholes, and ring nz developer support, get claude to jump through their hoops and make the narrowest, least exciting of the app i possibly could, because i put a bunch of work into the metal shaders to get realtime LIDAR video capture working - and it's good for capturing.
but there will be no Vision Pro app, no native iOS playback app, they'll just have to be happy with the web version. I'll concentrate on good android apps using ARCore and for the various Android headsets.
i'm also going to try and stop using my iphone and migrate over to using a degoogled android phone. i've been wanting to build a custom launcher for a while (one that uses a local LLM like llama-8b-instruct to make a private AI phone), and this is the motivation.
i've been ride or die with apple since the iphone 7-15. 8 good years, but that gatekeeping, paternalistic bullshit finally pushed me back to android / linux.
cheers app store connect review team, you finally broke me free. <3
